Nan National Museum is another interesting place that you want to visit. It’s an old-styled Thai house located in the middle of large garden. Long time ago, it was the house of Nan’s ruler. The house is made of strong lime and brick, covered in yellow and brown color.

Inside the house, many antiques are displayed. These antiques include artworks, old items, black ivories, and every other items that reflect the life of nothern people. All exhibitions are organized by different zones. You will have to see one by one. And, in front of the house, there is the monument of Chao Suriyapongparitdet, the owner of the house.

For your information, the house was registered as Nan National Museum by Fine Arst Department in 1974. After that, all antiques have been displayed in the museum.

The museum is perfect for people of all ages. Take your children, your love one, your family, or your friends with you. The museum is available everyday, except for Monday and Tuesday, from 9:00-16:00. The admission fee is only 20 Baht for a Thai tourist and 100 Baht for a foreign tourist. Elderly people, students, and priests of all religions are allow to get inside for free.

How to get there

Nan national museum is located in Nan downtown. To get there, you just use the Highway 101. Just be careful and keep your eyes on the road. Before reaching the downtown, you should turn left. The way will lead you directly to the museum. Most hotels or Travel Agency in Chiang Mai and Nan will be able to book the car rental with driver or provide the private tour package to visit all museum for you.

Opening hours and Entrance fee : Opens from 9 am until 4 pm. (Closed : Monday and Tuesday). Admission is 20 baht for Thai citizens and 100 baht for foreigners.
