Beside of paying respect to the statue, you should worship the candles made by elderly people of the village. The candles are known as ‘Tian Khatha’. They’re lucky candles. By lightening and worshipping it, it should bring you good lucks. That’s what villagers believe. Many tourists love to do so. It’s one of their favourite activities.

Each candle costs 10 Baht for you to worship it. Each candle is made with wax from Lampang Province and will be stuffed with spell written by the abbot of the temple. Each spell is a spell for each birthday, from Sunday to Monday. Therefore, if you worship a candle on your birthday, your life should be extremely fortunate.

That’s not the end of that. There are still other interesting things around the temple. If you walk a little bit further to other parts of the village, you will see how villagers make ‘fabric-weaved dolls’. These dolls are made of cotton fiber from factories in Bangkok. The fiber will be weaved and transformed into different parts of dolls: legs, hand, bodies, and heads. Then all parts will be stuffed with synthetic fiber and put together. These dolls will be put on sale. They’re well-known, in fact. They’re OTOP goods in many provinces in Thailand, for and example, Chiang Mai. If you happen to have a chance, don’t for get to buy some for your kids or as souvenirs for yourself. The dolls are cute. They have large heads and decorated in different colors. They can be great toys and house decorating items.

Now, Wat Phra Nang Din is not a regular temple, but also a valuable learning resource of culture. Perfect for kids and adults. How to get there

In order to get to Phra Nang Din Temple, just use the Highway 1148. Try to head south. The temple is only about 4 kilometres from Chiangkham County. You should reach there soon. It will be on your right side.
