Pangka Royal Project Development Centre ‘Learning centre and mind relaxing place, all in one’
Finding a place in Thailand to relax stress with your family is simply not a difficult thing to do. Although this is a technology age, there are still many beautiful natural attractions for tourists.
Pangka Royal Project Development is a good example for this. It’s not just surrounded with beautiful water and trees, but also a perfect place for agricultural learning.
Panka Royal Project Development Centre is located in Pong County, Phayao Province. It’s about 500-1,300 metres higher than the sea level. The whole area is about 56,041,600 square metres large. a place where royal projects are developed. There are leisure shelters available. Therefore, you can arrange an education trip for your students or family. Just spend a few nights at the place, wake up everymorning for sightseeing and explore all plantations, see how plants are grown and harvested. Getting there during winter will be best, as you will see a lot of rare cold plants, for examples, cartoon tomatoes and giant pumpkins. For other seasons, there will be different plants, all of which are beautiful.
There is a restaurant at the place. You will enjoy eating in the middle of nature. No matter which direction you’re looking, you will always see greenery.
For shelters, they are 1-level houses, but quite large. You will sleep conveniently. The houses are surrounded with beautiful gardens. The price starts with 100 Baht only. That’s affordable. You won’t waste your money for sure. And don’t worry about getting too hot. Although there aren’t air conditioners in the shelters, but the weather at the place are cool all year round.
If you don’t want to be in a shelter, there are camping grounds for you. You can just bring your own tent and set your own camp. In fact, we’re suggest you that you set your own tent, as it will get your closer to the nature. Especially if you hate hot weather and love cold weather, setting your own tent will make you feel cooler and more exciting that staying in a shelter.
That’s not only that. There are also convention rooms for rent, in case some working groups want to hold meetings. Also, there are karaoke rooms. Sounds fun, Karaoke rooms are available for both group tourists and single tourists. Don’t worry that you won’t have fun while staying there, because you will feel fun for sure. You will even love it there so much that you don’t want to leave at all.
Any angles of the place is gorgeous. You can just stand on any spot and look around to see mountains from a great distance. There are lots of beautiful sites for landscape photographers to take photos.
Plantations in the centre are grown perfectly. Most of the plants will be put on sale. These plants are the highlight of the place. Take your kids to observe the plants and teach them how the plants are grown before being transformed into food. There will be officers to show your way while observing these plantations.
For those who wants to do a little shopping, be happy. There are some cute traditonal souvenirs, for examples, doll keychains, traditional-style wallets, Thai northern costumes etc. Just buy some to remind yourself in the future, ‘I’ve been to the place before.’
Beside of these, there are also 3 villages, consisting of Sibsong Pattana Village, Pangka Tai Village, and Pangka Nua Village, under the care of the project. You may take tours in these villages too, in order to see how villagers live their lives. Especially Pangka Tai and Pangka Nua, you will want to get to these two most, as you will meet Miang People and Hmong People, two ethnic groups.

How to get there
You may start from Chiang Mai downtown. Try to drive along Dok Kham Tai County, Chun County, Chiangkam County. Then look for the Highway 1179. Keep driving until you reach the 8th kilometre. Then turn right and right again to get to the Highway 1148(Chiangkam-Nan). Then turn left at the 9th kilometre. Keep driving for about 5 kilometres until you reach the centre.
Getting up there will be difficult if you don’t have a car or your car is in poor condition, as the road is quite rough. If you have no personal car, just rent a car from a car company. If you have a four-wheeled car, that will be best, as this type of car is specially designed for long-way driving and rough roads.
