The name ‘The Death Railway’ may not sound very sweet to you, but there’s nothing to be worry about. The name just caused by some difficulties and casualties during its establishment around World War 2. It’s however a very important historic site that attracts many tourists.
To give yourself a chance of tasting its atmosphere, there are several ways. One way is to take a train trip to Kra Sae Cave.
Because Kra Sae Cave is a cave in Kanchanaburi Province, which is located near the Death Railway. The most important thing is, the cave was once the shelther of those captives during the establishment of the Death Railway.
To get to Kra Sae Cave by a train, there wll be 3 rounds of arrival time: 7:36am , 11:41am, and 17:51pm . Of course, the train station of Kra Sae Cave is located in the middle of mountains, which should perfectly give you natural atmosphere.
When you arrive at the cave, feel free to get inside it. Try to walk carefully, as the ground is quite rough. Inside the cave, you will find that it’s large and wide. Also, you should find a holy Buddha statue, which you can pay respect to if you want to.
After walking around the cave for a while, you may want to go a little bit further to get on the Death Railway, which is nearby. Yes, you can walk on the railway and take photos. Just be careful, as the railway is quite high and located over Kwae River. You don’t want to enjoy photography so much that you fall down.
The scenery of trees, mountains, resort houses, and water is welcoming you. You can wander around and be in the middle of those. They’re not too far from the cave. Don’t forget to shop for some souvenirs and food before you leave. There are some shops. Just go and see.
