Wat Chiangrai is very interesting, as its name is as same as a province in northern Thailand, Chiang Rai Province. But how did it be located in Lampang?

Before going, you will want to know that Chao Chompoo, son of Cha Phraya Cheng, was the one who built the temple. Chao Chompoo evacuated from Chiang Rai and built this temple for villagers. He named it after his hometown, in order to make a memory of it.

The interior of the main viharn seems to house beautifully colored paintings and a golden seated Buddha. If you want to make a wish, you can go and see the pagoda and the white Lord Buddha statue. How to get there

Wat Chiangrai is located Suan Dok District, Muang County, Lampang province. Start your trip from Clock Tower Intersection. Then get to Ban Chiangrai Road. That’s where the temple is. Just notice it. It’s located near Lampamg Post Office. if you don’t have a car, just hire a tricycle or any other public vehicle you can find or we recommend you to book the car rental with driver for 1 day trip with us.
