Choui Fong Tea Plantation is managed by Choui Fong Corporation, Ltd., the largest tea producer in Chiang Rai, and stands as one of the province’s most celebrated tourist attractions. There are two branches of the plantation: one located in Mae Fah Luang County and the other in Mae Chan County. Both are vast, with the Mae Fah Luang branch covering over 800,000 square meters at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters above sea level, and the Mae Chan branch spanning more than 1 million square meters. The breathtaking scenery at both locations includes rows upon rows of descending tea plants and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.

Scenic Beauty and Cultural Significance

The stunning landscapes of Choui Fong Tea Plantation have made it a popular location for media productions, including the famous Thai TV drama ‘Rak Aok Agad,’ which featured the Mae Chan branch prominently. Visitors often find themselves captivated by the plantation’s relaxing atmosphere and pleasant climate, which make it an ideal setting for both casual tourists and avid photographers. Whether you’re strolling through the tea fields or simply taking in the view from a distance, the plantation’s serene environment offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Popular choices include the green tea smoothie, iced green tea, and a selection of sweet treats like green tea cake and green tea rolled cake. For the best experience, enjoy your food and drinks on the terrace, where you can breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the scenic views of the tea fields. In addition to the restaurant, the Mae Chan branch also offers a selection of tea leaves and tea powder for purchase, allowing visitors to take a piece of Choui Fong’s quality tea home with them.

A Tale of Two Plantations

While the Mae Chan branch is known for its culinary offerings and newer facilities, the Mae Fah Luang branch, as the original site, offers a more traditional experience. Although it does not feature a restaurant, the Mae Fah Luang branch still provides visitors with the opportunity to admire the vast tea fields and capture beautiful photographs. Regardless of which branch you visit, Choui Fong Tea Plantation promises a memorable experience that combines the best of Chiang Rai’s natural beauty and tea culture.
