1 Day Trekking in Chiang Dao wildlife sanctuary
Trekking in Chiang Dao wildlife sanctuary is the top list of trekkers in Thailand that should not be missed.
UNESCO has approved Chiang Mai’s Doi Chiang Dao as a new biosphere reserve on 15 September 2021.
The Chiang Dao forest is full of life and various plants. We would like everyone to touch the real nature, to impress into the forest and to spend time to listen the sounds of creature, birds and insects to heal the tiredness in the mind.
To pick up customers at the hotel in Chiang Mai town at 7.00 am and driving to the north on route 107, heading straight through Mae Rim, Mae Taeng and stop in Chiang Dao district which we take the time around 2 hours. The total distance is about 75 kilometers.
“Ban Yang Pu Toh” is a small village surrounded by mountains and green forests and a stream through the village. The local people are very nice and friendly!
For the program Chaiang Dao trekking, there is divided for 2 routes:
Program 1 : Trekking 7 km. + Explore Chiang Dao Cave

Overview :
Meeting a local guide and to start the trekking trail on Huai Mae Mat – San Kangjong route with a distance around 7 km. The walking time is approximately 3.30 hours. For this route, we will trekking in the area of Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary. We walk along the trail and stream into the forest, you will find a lot of plants and to hear the sounds of birds, insects and small animals along the way.
During trekking, you will know about a local people here that brings plants in different parts to make medicines and some beliefs ethics to be a trick for forest conservation and enjoy the beautiful nature. There are also a large tree that is the highlight of this route.
After finishing the trek around noon, we will take a break for 1 hour to have a lunch and relax by soaking and bathing in the natural hot spring pool likes the Japanese onsen. To reduce stress physically and mentally, to help, restore fatigue and reduce pain It also help to balance the energy of the body.
Then, we travel to the Chiang Dao cave to explore a large limestone cave with a walkway and the interior hall is divided into several sections
In the end of the day, we return to Chiang Mai and drop off customers at the hotel around 17.30 – 18.00 pm.
Program 2 : Trekking 13 km.

Meeting a local guide and to start hiking trail on Pa Miang – San Kom Phra trail around 13 km distance. We take approximately 7 hours to walk.
On this route, we still walk in the Doi Luang Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary as before, but will walk differently from the original route. It takes quite a lot of walking up and down the hill. But we will be able to fully experience the idleness of the forest in a non-touristic way all day.
Then, we come to heal the body by soaking and bathing in hot mineral water for 1 hour. To reduce stress physically and mentally, to help, restore fatigue and reduce pain It also help to balance the energy of the body.
In the end of the day, we return to Chiang Mai and drop off customers at the hotel around 17.30 – 18.00 pm.
Remark: These trekking route is in the area of Chiang Dao wildlife sanctuary but not go to the submit of Doi Luang Chiang Dao which do not allow for overnight camping .
