Wat Phra That Chom Tong ‘Valuable temple and Spectacular Panorama’

There are 4 temples with the name ‘Chom’. And Wat Phra That Chom Tong is one of those. It is one of the most peaceful and valuable temple.
Wat Phra That Chom Tong is also known as Wat Chom Tong. It is famous for having a part of Lord Buddha’s relics. The relics is very holy and had been being respected by villagers all long.
Beside of the relics, you also pay respect to the statue of Luang Pho To, the biggest one in Mae Hong Son. You can see Luang Pho To from far because of its large sitting Buddha image on the the mountaintop. The statue is about 15 metres tall. It’s made of brick and lime. The story says, it was built in the year 1989. From here one has a beautiful view over the Yuam Valley and Mae Sariang Town. A long naga lined stair case leads to the Buddha and both the Ubosot and the Viharn are beautiful buildings in central Thai-style.
There are lots more things for you to see around the temple. The white pagodas are also admirable. The pointy-roofed gate is so stunning. Or the statues of Nagas at handrails are glorious. You will want to take a lot of photos. It will be relaxing to walk around, seeing those things, inhaling fresh air into your lungs. To take a photo of something, be careful anyway. Photography may not be allowed in some spots. Look around first before you press your shutter button.
