Khun Wang Royal Project or Khun Wang RoyalAgricultural Research Centre is a research station on the slopes of Doi Inthanon has been getting a good deal of attention in the last few years since word got out about it being one of the best places in Chiang Mai to appreciate the beauty of phya sua khrong (wild Himalayan cherry) trees in full bloom in early January.

Travel Information

Chiang Mai Royal Agricultural Research Center is about a two-hour drive from Chiang Mai International Airport. From the airport, take Route 108 and turn right onto Route 1009 at Chom Thong district heading to Doi Inthanon. At KM31, turn right to Route 1284 into the research centre. The road is winding and in good condition, except for 500m where there are many potholes on the road leading to the entrance gate of Mae Chon Luang station.
