The Yi Peng Lantern Festival is a significant event in the Lanna culture, where locals gather to release sky lanterns (Khomloy) in worship of Ket Kaew Chulamaneed (Relic of Lord Buddha) in heaven. Meanwhile, beautifully handcrafted Krathongs made of banana trunk, leaves, incense, candles, and flowers are floated down the river to wash away grudges and bad luck. This spectacular display not only symbolizes hope and renewal but also offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience to travelers from around the world.
This year’s festival will be held at a stunning venue with impressive views of the great pagoda. A meticulously planned itinerary ensures a seamless and memorable experience, complete with traditional Lanna Thai buffet food, snacks, desserts, and beverages.
